Golf – Chipping and Putting Tips

Try out my four iron chip shot: simply bump it just past the fringe, & allow it roll out. Use your putting grip and choke down a few inches on your golfclub.
By adding more clubs to my available chipping selection, my short shots have as of lately gotten much more accurate. In particular, on those long chips in which you just have to get the golf ball on the green and allow it just roll on out, I’ve had a lot of success using my 4 iron . This last month, while out with a friend, I played with that particular hit which wound up being an easy two putt from about twenty yds out.
I prefer using a reverse overlap putting grip since it helps me to keep my hands working together. Everything else I focus on is fundamental to chipping. I line up my golf ball slightly back from center in a less than shoulder width but slightly open stance, & set my weight on my left foot. This helps to allow me come in with a descending strike into the back of the ball. Before I start to do anything, however, I look over the break in the green and pick an area on the other side of the fringe where I’d like the golfball to land.
Exactly like when I putt, I hold my head still long after striking the ball. Doing so will help me to strike the golf ball cleanly. Imagine the path as being the cup-width and aim for one hole after the other systematically to reduce anxiousness.
Far too many of the players I meet are far too worried about following their line. Most I’ve met say they picture a narrow line on the green running from the ball to the cup – but, the harder they think about hitting that line, the more tense they get – and as a result, this keeps them from taking a smooth, relaxed stroke. Thus, the golf ball rarely stays on the inteded path.
Instead, I tell players to imagine a path from the putter to the cup like a number of sequential holes. This image will allow you to relax to simply let the stroke go smoothly, & will go a long way to help you imagine a route to the cup. When you are ready to put, simply think of striking the golf ball into the first hole only a few inches away. Think of the actual hole to control your distance only. Doing this should take off the pressure and make puttinga little easier and more positive.

How To Learn Solid Touch In Golf

With everybody focusing on putting and chipping, pitching has become an underdiscussed but important section of your game. Short hitters that do not make it to the greens & long players that get wild have to rely on pitching in order to still make pars.
The strongest players at pitching are at their fundamentals strong and have developed a “feel” for being able to control distance. I have worked pretty hard over time in order to improve. Here are my 2 big pitching tips. Take a good shoulder turn backwards & through the swing, so that my large muscles are controlling the motion, & let your arms stay soft.
I can’t put enough stress on the importance of having a motionless head when regarding solid ball-striking ability & accurate iron play. However, you also have to know when you can release your head toward the target.
Average golfers tend to move their head side to side or up & down during the swing. Vertical movement, even if done merely to a small degree, will typically have the result of thin or fat shots as the relative distance to the golf ball increases or decreases. A pulled or pushed iron shot often results from having too much lateral motion, as they are an inability to consistently bring back the clubhead to the place it was at address.
During my swing, I try to keep my head perfectly motionless. It moves downward a little when you come into contact with the ball – just not laterally. So that it doesn’t inhibit my follow through, then I release it towards the target after striking.
I typically would prefer to use my 9-iron over my sand wedge for bunker shots of forty to 50 yards. I’m likely to hit under the ball & be short or strike the golf ball in the middle & skull it beyond the green in order to create that much distance with the higher-lofted club choice. By utilizing the bounce from the bottom of your club in order to hit right through the sand with more room for error, I can reach the target with a 9 iron.
I normally swing the way I would with my sand wedge swing. I will begin by opening up my stance & club towards my target area & moving my hands down on the handle. I move the club backward along the stance line & then follow through using an out-to-in motion. My left arm is firm when impacting – which keeps me from letting my hands go.
As a result of doing this the golf ball comes out relatively low, so you will want to allow for some extra roll.

It is interesting to see how many different kinds of golf balls are in the market. There are so many, it seems like new ones show up every week. Buying used golf balls are a great way to save money and compare products. Most of them will be in great condition, and often cost up to 50% less than original balls. Some shops are physical stores, while others can be found on the internet. It may take a little searching, but it’s worth it.
Dont waste money on expensive balls if you are a high handicap player. Spend your money on cheap balls, because at your skill level, you won’t know the difference anyway. The cheaper balls are perfect for those have high handicaps.
If you happen to fall into this category, save money and invest in lessons and decent golf clubs. No matter what, you can buy inexpensive balls at Target or any sporting goods outlet.
One of the greatest marketing tools is using golf balls. They are a smash at things like company events, charity functions and tournaments. Golf balls with your logo on them will get your name tossed around like a ping pong ball.
Consider lost golf balls, and think how many are out there that get snatched by golfers everywhere. Now think how nice it would be to have your logo on lots of those balls.
Customizing your golf balls are a great way to express yourself or interests, and they make a great and unique gift. Put a picture or engraving on it, and it becomes a one of a kind item.
There is no shortage of ways to customize and tweak golf balls, and as long as gofers keep buying these versatile little globes, they will continue to grow in popularity and style.

Golf is certainly one of the more expensive sports in the world. You may have to pay for a membership to a club or at least pay every time you have a round at a club that you are not a member of. At the same time you will need to get yourself a set of clubs which can be very expensive and suitable golf clothing. In order to try to limit your costings it may be a good idea for you to look for cheap golf trousers and other apparel that you need.
The type of trousers that you wear when playing golf will usually be determined by the specific dress code at the course in which you play at. However, generally you will have a range of different options and any smart trouser should be suitable.
When looking for affordable options you will want to start by looking online. There are all sorts of different e-commerce and online shops that you could sift through and these will point you to the direction of some cheaper options. Spend some time looking at prices and this will help you to determine what you can get for your money.
Look out for sales in your local area as well. Usually purchasing golf trousers in a local sports shop will be more expensive than buying them online but if there is a sale on then you may be able to get yourself a bargain.
If you really want to save money and don’t mind wearing second-hand clothing then there are few different options available to this end as well. The best place to look would be online and specifically on eBay. Here you will be likely to come across many people selling old golf trousers that they no longer need for whatever reason at very low prices.
Classified ads may also be a good option. You can find these both online and off-line in your local papers.

Whenever people agree to complicate something that was supposed to be fun, it kills the essence of it all. That’s the same thing that is happening to golf. People who are involved in the game often complicate the sport to some levels such that it becomes discouraging.
At a first glance, you should be considering every detail in the line of short game, your attitude on and off the lawn, and the percentage of success on driving in the fairway. You should look out for the regulations regarding the greens and the kind of shots a poor hitter would make. Is there a similarity between your bad shots?
One should have a bird’s eye view. You should be looking at this interesting process from start to finish. Bring yourself to be decisive and have a course of action for all the findings regarding your enjoyment of the game
Have a short list and cling to it until the day you feel you have grasped the habit of adding projects that are more complete.
Every golfer has to have a target or a goal in his mind before he walks onto the grass to play his game. The good thing about having decent goals is that you will be at an advantage when planning for what effort you need to apply to get results.
A golfer should therefore have short term to long-term goals. A short-term goal has specific actions or targets. For example, you may say that you want to learn “How to perfect a swing.”
You need to have a good game plan for you to make it with your goals. Come up with a timetable and plan the practice drills you are going to take.
Once you have your plan in place, you should be on schedule and follow it to the letter. Select the best atmosphere and conditions to play your golf.

Watching Training DVD’s Can Help Perk Up Your Golf Skills
August 7, 2010 by Ron Thompson

There are lots of golfers that try to get vital tips on their game by trying to watch other players on the many DVD’s or even on the television. It looks easy when watching these people performing but when you come to try and put these tips into action in a game it can be a very different matter altogether.
It can be vey difficult to interpret what the DVD’s are actually telling you and as such you may struggle to get your swing right. Here are a few tips that could help to improve not only your swing but your game in general.
A good visualization technique that will help you to improve your swing is the first tip of the day. Here you stand directly behind you golf ball and look straight down where you want the ball to land. By doing this you can see the angle that you need to hit the ball to make this happen. Then you just make your stance and hit the ball at the desired angle.
Another tip is when you are about to take your shot try to relax your body. If the body gets tense it can cause you to pull your shot. This basically means that you will slice it to one side or the other.
In order to be able to hit the ball properly you must try to focus on your swing rather than on hitting the golf ball.
If you can perfect your swing and get into a natural rhythm with the swing then the hitting of the ball becomes almost automatic. With a perfected swing and automatic hitting of the ball you should see a nice straight drive from your hit.
The most important thing to remember however when playing golf is getting the correct posture before addressing the ball. By keeping your knees bent and your shoulders square you should find it easier to strike the ball perfectly every time.
By remembering most of these handy tips you should see a dramatic improvement in your game.

Golf Is A Nice Past Time For Men Engaged In The Business World
June 6, 2010 by Danny Moore

Sometimes being a success in business is about more than just what you do from 9 to 5. A lot can depend on the “extras,” like how you treat your clients and the rapport you build with them. Some people use sports to help develop relationships in business. This can work, except if you’re not a good athlete.
So, if you’re no athlete and your client wants to meet over 9 holes of golf to talk shop, what do you do? It’s a quite a dilemma, because you want to say yes to keep his business, but you also don’t want to make a fool of yourself.
When you call to accept, be sure to be jovial. You may want to own up to your inability to play. They may appreciate your candor and be more forgiving of a bad performance on the links if you admit it up front.
If you don’t know how to play golf before the outing there’s still ways to make the event worthwhile and less embarrassing.
There are several ways to improve the learning curve, when you’re trying to familiarize yourself with the game quickly. However, you probably still shouldn’t expect to dominate when you get out on the links.
It may be helpful to spend a little cash and take a lesson or two from a golf instructor. Their rates range from $8 an hour to $100 for really big names. This will help you to at least know the fundamentals of the game and speak the lingo.
You may even find a licensed instructor that is offering special daily or package rates.
When you find an instructor let him know your situation and don’t try to be able to master the game with only a few lessons. Find out as much as you need to know to get you through 18 holes respectably.
So, don’t worry. In the end, the most important thing is that you show up with a good attitude and don’t take yourself too seriously. You may want to tell your business client that you’re a novice. They may appreciate your willingness to go the extra mile for them and reward you with more business.
