How to Turn Your Golf Cart into a Snow Plow in Three Easy Steps
January 4, 2011 by Rich Wiseman

Your local golf course may be under feet of snow, but that doesn’t mean that your driveway has to be. Shoveling snow is a thankless, back-breaking and boring task that’s repeated thousands of times a day each Winter.
When you want to clear your driveway of snow, you usually have a few options: shovel, snow blower, or a bulky blade that attaches to your truck or SUV. Shovels and blowers can take forever and heavy truck plow blades can wreak havoc on your suspension and make it impossible to park in the garage.
Pulling your golf cart out of summer storage and enlisting it in plowing duties is a fast and fun way to clear your driveway. Golf carts are big enough to clear a driveway in minutes and small enough to reach every corner and still enable you to park your car in the garage.
Keep these three things in mind when converting your golf cart into a plow:
Step 1: Order your snow plow equipment
Make sure you know what brand of cart you have – Club Car, EZGO or Yamaha – before you shop. There are universal fit snow plows, but the brand specific plows are always the easiest to install, and later detach. Most of the newer kits make it super simple to install your plow yourself. You might want to spend a bit more upfront on a plow that you can install yourself.
There are a lot of ways to winterize your buggy, so you may also want to consider wind shields, enclosures, heaters and snow tires/chains.
Step 2: Install your snow plow BEFORE it snows
A blinding snow storm is no time to be testing out your new plow (or installing it). As stated above, most of the newer plow kits are pretty simple to install, however, when the snow is rapidly piling up is the worst time to realize that you don’t have the bolt necessary to attach your blade. Make sure your equipment is installed and you taken a test drive before the hard stuff hits.
Step 3: Pray for a blizzard
Once your golf cart/snow plow is all tricked out and ready to push snow, the hardest thing is going to be waiting for that first big snow. Relax, it will come, and when it does, you’ll be the envy of the neighborhood. You could even spend a few minutes helping out your neighbors, if you want.
When the weather gets warmer and you actually need your golf cart for golfing again, returning your cart to its original state is usually as easy as unscrewing a bolt or removing a pin. It seems that people are getting more and more creative in how they customize their golf carts, but the snow plow is definitely one of the most useful golf cart accessories on the market today.
You can get all of the golf cart parts needed to get your golf cart snow plow started today. You’ll find a wide variety of unique golf cart accessories that are perfect for customizing your buggy.
Why Lifted Golf Carts Are So Popular

Golf is a relaxing sport whether you play yourself or simply watch the game. You may have noticed some players are using a different type of golf cart then others. These carts stand taller and seem to be larger than regular carts. These are called lifted golf carts, and they are becoming quite popular among golfers and others as well.
As you have probably already noticed these carts usually sit a bit taller than the regular version. Although they are not manufactured specifically for those with limited mobility, they are a great option for those individuals. They are also very easy to enter and exit, so there is little chance of getting tripped up exiting the vehicle.
Certain types of golf courses are better suited to these lifted vehicles than others. Courses which feature rougher terrain are becoming quite popular, and the regular carts are sometimes having a problem traversing the terrain. The lifted version adds more weight to the cart thus giving it more traction.
If you ask the groundskeeper his opinion he will tell you very quickly how convenient it is to have a lifted cart. With the ample room they provide it is easy for them to transport their grounds maintenance equipment wherever they need to go. While making fewer trips, the groundskeeper is able to keep the course in optimum condition for players.
A lot of golf carts are sold for personal use each year. They are used by the elderly and others to get around in the lawn areas around the home. Gardeners particularly love to use them, and the lifted variety sells well to these individuals.
The lifted golf cart is a great vehicle for personal use at home or for making the trip around the golf course a lot quicker. Whether you are an avid golfer or a happy gardener, you owe it to yourself to look into getting one of these vehicles for your own use. Once you have tried one for yourself, you will see why these vehicles are becoming the golf cart of choice.

Facts Related To Electric Golf Carts

A couple of decades ago the golf cart was a humble vehicle used as a means of transport for players on a golf course. Since then it has undergone a facelift and is nowadays put to many other uses. For example, powerful golf carts referred to as utility vehicles are now used on farms, at universities, at airports and in large warehouses. More and more people also use electric golf carts for personal transport.
Originally many golf cars used to be powered by gasoline. This has changed over time and now you find that carts powered by rechargeable batteries are the norm. They are cheaper to run, don’t cost as much to maintain and are also more environmentally friendly. The only area where gasoline powered carts still are popular is where the range provided by a battery operated cart is too restrictive.
The standard golf cart is normally able to carry 2 to 4 people and their golf equipment in comfort. Special types of carts that are made to be used in warehouses and on farms can often carry loads of more than 5000 pounds. These are often referred to as utility vehicles,
Golf carts can sometimes be put to surprising uses. Lately you will find that they are more and more often used to transport people inside the borders of gated communities and retirement villages. In fact the management of these communities often actively encourage the use of these carts in the place of motor vehicles. They don’t only make much less noise, they also take up less space, don’t cause such a large amount of wear and tear on the roads and they’re as a general rule safer to drive than cars.
It’s not legal to drive a golf cart on a public road in most states and countries. There are, however exceptions. If the cart is fitted with all the necessary safety equipment such as safety belts, headlights, brake lights, turn signals and a windshield local, authorities often allow them on public roads.
What you intend to use the cart for and your specific needs should be the primary determinant when choosing a golf cart. There’s a wide array of carts on the market. They come with different prices, different load capabilities and different features. Don’t let your emotions run away with you and buy a cart with a lot of unnecessary features. On the other hand, make sure what you choose can do what you need it to do. If you play golf on a hilly course, you need a more powerful cart, for example, than otherwise.
When it comes to the choice of a brand name, the same principles apply. The majority of electric golf carts for sale are of high quality, but the various brands don’t all have the same weak or strong points. Some brands are specifically designed for use in cold climates. If you live in a coastal city, you should perhaps consider a brand that uses aluminum to manufacture their carts – this is rust-resistant. Whatever brand you choose should be trustworthy and meet your particular requirements.
Searching for the best place to get electric golf carts, then you should visit golfcarry.com and you will surely find some great deals on golf carts.

Are you tired of walking around an off-road area? If so, then you should consider buying a golf cart. Ironically, golf carts aren’t just for golf courses. You can also use them at places such as campgrounds and construction sites. However, not all golf carts are alike. Here are some tips to help you buy the right one for your needs:
1. Shop around.
Buying a golf cart and custom golf cart parts is no different from buying anything else. By shopping around, you can find the best price on a particular model that you want. Make sure to shop online and offline. Also, after finding a particular model that best suits your needs, compare prices from at least three stores, before making your purchase.
2. Set a budget (and then stick to it!).
The price tag of golf carts can range significantly, due to various factors (i.e. a new or used cart, electric-powered or gas-powered, and the number of bells and whistles). By setting a budget before you start shopping for a golf cart, it will be easier to practice fiscal discipline. Is it OK to spend slightly more than you’ve budgeted for your golf cart? Yes, but stay as close to it as possible.
3. Do an informal needs-analysis.
This will help you to choose the right golf cart for your particular needs, and could impact the custom golf cart parts that you’ll need in the future. Consider factors such as the terrain you’ll be driving the cart on. This will have a huge impact on the type of golf cart that you need (such as an electric-powered or gas-powered model.
4. Consider the bells and whistles you want.
These extra can range from glove boxes to windshield wipers, and from brake lights to headlights. While these extras will add to a golf cart’s bottom line, they can certainly add a significant amount of value to it. A golf cart is a huge investment, so you might as well get all the perks that you need.
5. Take it for a spin.
Just as you’d likely test-drive a car or truck before buying it, so you should also take a golf cart for a spin, before deciding whether or not to buy it. This will give you a chance to see how the model handles. Reading all the specifications for a certain model isn’t enough.
6. Buy a utility golf cart for workplaces.
These golf carts are sturdier than the average models, which allows them to travel across rougher terrains more easily. You can even special order a hauling bed and grate for your utility golf cart.
Choosing the right golf cart will impact factors such as the custom golf cart parts needed. These tips will help you to score a hole-in-one when choosing one!

Set Challenging But Reachable Golf Training Goals
My career has been built around the targets I have set for myself. I have managed to achieve them sometimes and have had to face failures too?sometimes by just a wee little bit. Maybe that has kept the fire burning in me and helped me move from one echelon to another.
The main idea behind my writing this article is to aid you on the entire process of setting potent yet attainable goals for yourself as it is no use to set goals that would not be attainable. My personal favorite is Leslie Cameron?s approach to goal setting. Before you set a goal for yourself try to know if any one before has achieved the same. If there is no predecessor then what makes you confident that you would be able to achieve what no one else before you has managed to achieve. These two answers would shed light on how reasonable or unreasonable your goals are.
Secondly analyze the monetary costs and personal costs this goal would coat you. For example the regularity of your extra golf sessions would depend completely on you. Keep in mind that you may need to forfeit certain personal engagements too and need to be mentally tuned to do so.
Analyze your golf technique and corrections needed. Is your coach competent enough to help rectify them? Is your body healthy enough to endure the physical needs of golf?
Lastly, analyze the time that would be spent in achieving your goal. Not all goals can be achieved immediately. Are you ready to wait and would you be happy if you get it at a much later date? If the answer is no then you need to re-evaluate your goals. Set a goal that is achievable and gives you happiness and not frustration.
1) What do I want to achieve, what is my goal?
2) Is it achievable?
3) What will I accept as evidence that I have achieved my goal?
4. Do I have the reserves to achieve my goal?
5. Am I mentally prepared to bear the costs and compromises for achieving the goal?
6. Are the means to achieve the goal in my control?
7. If I achieve my goal after a certain time would it be acceptable to me?
And remember to set rolling goals and you will improve but leaps and bounds.

Custom Golf Carts: The Pros And Cons

If you engage in golfing often and have your own golf cart or considering purchasing one, you might be interest in golf carts customized. Some of these golf carts are so customized that they no longer look like a golf cart. Perhaps this appeals to you, which is fine if the golf course where you golf has no issues with the difference in your cart.
A golf cart is a necessary tool when playing golf, especially if the course is exceptionally large. When people start playing the sport, they typically rent the carts from the course they are playing, which works out well. Those that become more serious about the game, often purchase their own golf cart in order to save money, and owning a golf cart is exciting.
You may have seen the golf carts customized and are intrigued and ready to jump in and purchase one. Before you do, you should be aware of some of the cons of owning a golf cart that looks “too customized. First, if you golf on a private course, they may have very strict rules about customized carts, so make sure to check their rules before you run out and purchase a customized golf cart.
If you golf on a public course, they are less strict, but still make have specific guidelines for the the type of carts they allow. Ensure you know these rules before you purchase a new cart. You do not want to spend a lot of money on your new cart, and then to be told you cannot use it on your favorite course.
Of course, the pros to golf carts customized are that it is unique and makes a statement about who you are as a person. If you have a need to make a statement, but your course does not allow highly customized carts, find out what they do allow. You may be able to paint it a unique color, get seat covers, and even new wheels that are different from standard golf carts.
There are many reasons to customize a golf cart, mostly because it is all yours and you do not look identical to the sea of carts lined up at most every course. Just as people like to customize their cars, it holds true for those that golf often. Just ensure you follow the rules of your golf course before you begin or buy a custom golf course.
Finally, if you find your course allows customization, have fun with it and choose something that is different, practical, and defiantly makes a statement about you and what you represent. You may just set a trend among other golfers and soon see many customized carts around the course.

Making your Golf Cart Unique
January 4, 2010 by Diane Slate

Golf cart accessories are expected for the carts that are driven on a golf course. However, golf carts have a multitude of purposes and those accessories can be extended to meet those purposes.
You can find golf carts on the stretching lawns of homeowners who have really large yards. They are used as utility carts for businesses and farms; as transportation assistance in retirement or beachfront communities; or in large concert halls or sports complexes where patrons need parking assistance.
So, choosing golf cart accessories must begin with deciding if you will simply be hauling extra passengers, if you will have to deal with inclement weather, if you will have to sit on the cart for long periods of time or if you are using the cart a lot to off-road.
Some basic golf cart accessories include: a beverage tray to keep snacks and drinks, a drink cooler, an electric heater to keep warm while you wait, rear view mirrors, brake lights and turn signals for traffic safety and CD players and speakers.
Of course, if you primarily use the cart for golf, you can take advantage of ball-washers to keep golf balls clean.
For more advanced golf cart accessories, think about roofs or enclosures with Velcro to protect riders; storage accessories like cargo beds, trailers or roof racks; lift kits and larger tires made for more rugged terrain; snow blade attachments; or winches that can make the golf cart have a stronger engine.
To protect against the dangers of getting hit with golf balls, there are even fully covered steel cages. One-color, two-color and black graphics are available as accessories to change the entire look of the golf cart or to promote a business.
Of course, the significance of being able to add golf cart accessories is that you get to make your golf cart stand out from any other golf cart. Additionally, if it is not used for golf, you may want to add your personal flair so that it does not look like it belongs on a golf course. To get start, just make sure you have the make and model of your golf cart and start shopping for your accessories.
The Golf Cart Covers Guide was established to help people learn about the various aspects of golf cart covers. One aspect that is discussed if you should buy a golf cart cover.
