Buying golf equipment can be like throwing your money into the sea, but armed with some fore-knowledge, you can save yourself time and money when you’re choosing your golf clubs. As in many things, you can either spend a lot of money in one go or you can spend a little several times, until you get what you really need.
If you are just starting out and are not 100% sure that you want to commit yourself to the addictive game of golf, you should either rent golf clubs at the clubhouse on the golf course, or buy a starter set of golf clubs.
Purchasing a set of starter golf clubs allows you to become accustomed to them; enabling you to concentrate on your swing instead of wondering how this set of miss-matched golf clubs you just rented is going to work out.
After you become better acquainted with the game of golf, you should consider investing in a better set of clubs more suited to you.
In general, a set of clubs includes a driver, one or two fairway woods, numbers 4-9 irons, a wedge or two and a putter.
Once become more experienced and start thinking about new clubs, you may want to think about purchasing your driver separately. Some players want a driver to give them more accuracy, some want more distance.
There are numerous sorts of golf ball available and the golf ball box will usually have a chart on the back to help you select the right golf ball for your needs. As you learn more about the game and get better at playing it, you should try out different balls which could help improve your accuracy and/or your distance.

Find A Proficient Golf Instruction Workout

Correct instruction is an important element in enhancing your game. An often disregarded element of the sport of golf coaching is the short game. More time at a range hitting the lengthy golf ball is a blast; not a single thing is going to revitalize your game more than spending you time working on shots ranging less than 100 meters.
Utilizing any sort of coaching routine, it is advisable to develop a program, and adhere to it. Agree to taking equally as much time working the short game as you may undertake the very long game. For people with two hours to spend at the driving range, agree to investing an hour or so on the putting green.
Chip shots, shots out from the sand and strategies shouldn’t be ignored. A super man made drive will be a masterpiece of design but technique shots will probably earn more matches. The best you possibly can, mirror real world situations within your golfing training. Smooth fine sand along with a ball perched smartly in time could make for a pretty out, yet it’s definitely not something you are likely to ever see while on the links. Toss the golf ball as in a straight line and as high as possible and let drop. You will get higher productivity of discovering how you can dig it out. Lower your exercise balls alongside the wall structure to know the way to handle difficult outs; be that a big shot or the clever move to the side.
There must be a recreation area within the town which is not usually clipped on time. Train at rescuing your game from the particular deep greens. Definitely not making it to the actual driving range seriously isn’t grounds to be able to omit training. If you ever spent an hour at the driving range today, then you certainly owe yourself an hour or so of short game practice. A pail of golf balls is the only equipment you need to practice chipping within the unattended sides around the park.
The golf putter golf swing is basically the most important component of a person’s routine training. Matches are lost as well as triumphed in around the green much more than some other sections of any course. Rehearse shots from inches width to feet, uphill, cross slope and also down hill while you’re on any putting golf green.
You possibly can practice in privacy of ones own yard also. Chipping out of the perfectly trimmed garden is only going to help you slightly. Allow the lawn go and further few days and you will get in just a few light chips with no damage anything at all. Talk to the neighbour behind you and trade off hitting practice balls right into one another’s backyard.
Metered training is going to strengthen your game even more than any components of your golf training routine. Spending a couple of hours, a couple of days weekly, can pay off much more that long stints on the weekend. The weekend is best-spent participating in eighteen any way.

Sports awards have always been very popular for adults and children alike for many years. The recognition that goes along with receiving a trophy or certificate for a job well done no matter what the sport is a thrill for many people and the teams they belong too when they complete a game successfully. It gives them an opportunity to display their pride in their ability to win the competition.
Being the one to receive an award for task well completed has been said to have begun many years ago in Greece. In the early days it is suggested that when armies won a battle against their enemy they would be rewarded with some form of the trophy to announce their accomplishments to others. When tradition first begun in Greece many years ago they would often receive products that were very important to their livelihood like weapons.
The honor that goes along with receiving acknowledgment for a job well done, gives many folks something to remember after the game is long finished. Is Golf A Good Method Of Exercise?
January 3, 2011 by Owen Jones

We all realize that we ought to exercise. Some individuals even like doing it, but unfortunately for society and most of us in it, the majority of people cannot be bothered to get off their backsides, which is why the populations of Western countries are turning to lard before our very eyes. This is a shame not just for the people concerned but for the tax-payers who have to replenish the public coffers in order to take care of them when they become sick.
So, how can we induce ourselves to take more exercise? Obviously government health warnings are merely benefiting marketing agencies and the media, so what else? Maybe, they could tell us: ‘Play tennis once a week, you will enjoy that vodka a whole lot more afterwards!’. Or ‘Play a round of golf first and that G&T will taste better!’ Or: ‘Walk a mile to the pub, have a pint, walk back and have another one, you will need it!’ The puritanical way definitely has not worked, so why not give realism a try?
I mentioned golf there quite by accident, but it strikes me that going for a game of golf and having a drink with your friends later is a whole lot better than watching it on TV with a can. It is not just the walking either, which most of us do not do enough of anyway, but it is the actions involved with hitting the ball – the swing and hand-eye co-ordination as well. And the social life afterwards, and many people miss out on a social life especially after retirement or the death of a spouse.
Now golf might not appear to you to be an interesting sport and I understand that point of view completely, but that is because it is not until you comprehend how hard it is to hit that ball hundreds of yards onto the green that most people can grasp the difficulty of playing the game well. That might be true of most sports, but golf does look so leisurely, does it not?
One of the good things about golf is that you can play with people of similar ability to yourself so that you do not feel self-conscious or ‘out of place’. If you join a ramblers’ club after 30 years of watching TV, you will soon feel old and past it, but golf is not the same, because there is no pace, no hurry, you can take as long as you like, you can let others ‘play through’ (go on before you) and you can call it a day and retire to the club house whenever you want.
Many retired people take up golf, especially if they were used to being active at work, but it is also a hobby, that you can take up if you think that you are not active enough at any age. It is surprising how much a little bit of extra exertion can help stave off stiff limbs and chubbiness.

A Guide Of Ways To Help A Golfer’s Golf Power Swing
December 3, 2010 by Bruce Feiler
The best golfers in the world have both power and proper form, though many seem to focus on how long their long drive is. It makes sense. The stronger the hit, the less hits it may take to get to the hole. However, it often comes at a price – their form.
The problem with dedicating yourself to a powerful swing is that the amount of distance you gain is sorely outclassed by the decrease in your accuracy.
At worst, a golfer that wanted some more power could end up injuring themselves as the swing can totally change their form. That actually happens more than you’d think, but when you add force to an unnatural stance, it quickly becomes inevitable.
Often people who try to change their style revert when they realize how stressful and eventually useless getting those few feet is in the long run.
Stronger swings can’t be aimed as well and thus, are extremely prone to hitting hazards such as a water hazard or sand traps. Accurate shots can easily avoid these and can coast to a win over people who can’t control their shots.
Each person is different. Some people can just swing harder than others. Just accept your physical limitations and then create a game plan to work around it. Plan to win a game, not just to have some little trick up your sleeve.
Each swing is unique to each person and what could be the winning swing for Tiger Woods can easily cause Arnold Palmer’s game to collapse. Find your own swing. Find your own path. Once you’ve got your own style, you’ll find that you may win more and that you may even have more fun.
Hopefully you have picked up a few pointers about how to improve your swing.

Poker And Golf Are Two Games That Go Together
November 28, 2010 by Rodney Chen

Poker and golf are two games that on the surface would appear to be completely different and unrelated. Many players of these two games may tend to disagree as it has been widely observed that many golfers enjoy and thrive in poker and many poker players love the game of golf and are actually very good at it. The games of golf and poker have some obvious difference, as golf is a physical sport whereas poker is strictly a cerebral contest there are a few similarities between the two popular pastimes that tend to overlap.
Poker and golf are both contests in which the competitor is competing on their own and not as part of team, occasionally there are golf matches that are played in pairs but the sport is still very individualistic. The golfer and the poker player are both left to their own skill and resources and have no team to fall back on, it is an individual challenge where the goal is to always beat a personal best, be it the size of the bluff or the lowest golf score.
These two sports are both contests that depend very heavily on making the best decisions in order to play well and win. In poker it may be a well-timed bluff or folding a good hand when you are beat. In golf the decision may be club or shot selection in a certain approach position as well as calculations about a risky shot versus a more conservative one.
The competitions are also both games in which people are competing for prizes in tournaments and even gambling for cash sometimes a gentleman’s game and sometimes very high stakes. Golfers and poker players are both competitors who are willing to bet on their own talents and use skill and guts to compete at the highest levels or in a less serious game just try to beat their friends.
Poker players and golfer are usually competing with themselves to get better at their craft. Each are competitions that require a great deal of mental fortitude and toughness in bad times. It’s also the temperament with the greatest players in either sport to keep emotions on an even keel in either the very best or worst of times. The next time you’re on the golf course or at the poker table don’t be surprised if you are competing against some of the same individuals, competitive and tough players.

Senior Golfers Slice Cure – Correct Your Technique To Lower Your Score Today
November 15, 2010 by Robert Ryan
Like any golf strategy, fixing a slice is a procedure. By working your way through the likely culprits, you will eventually uncover the underlying cause of your issues. Here are some time-tested points on correcting a slice.
Even though you can find numerous issues that can lead to slicing the ball, several are much more common compared to others. One of the most widespread causes arises during address.
Most senior golfers choose a square stance at address, where the feet, hips, and shoulders are in line with the target. If you move your left foot too far in front, the club face is likely to open up at impact and the ball will take off towards the right. The left foot ought to be directly beneath the left shoulder.
The same maintains true for the shoulders and hips. If they aren’t square, the ball will not fly straight and true.
The next step is fixing the grip. A lot of senior golfers grasp the club far too tightly, which can trigger the club head to open as it strikes the ball. Again, this will make the ball fly off to the right. If the grip is too loose, the head will move at impact and that, too, can easily lead to slicing or hooking.
Along with tightness, your grip on the club ought to be fairly neutral. Test your grip by looking straight down at it. You should be able to see two or three of your left-hand knuckles. If you can’t see any knuckles at all, this is often a indication of an improper grip. As your hands draw back into the hitting zone, they will turn to a neutral position, causing the face to open.
Rotate your hands-not the club, just your hands-until you see a couple of knuckles. Test hitting a few golf balls applying this new grip. Hold in mind that slight adjustments to your grip can go a long way. Continue working at it until you discover the perfect position for you. The moment you’ve got it, remember it!
When fixing a slice, swing action tempo is essential. Quite a few senior golfers have a propensity to attempt to make use of their arms as their power source to get some extra yards, but this almost never works out. The moment they get to the top of their backswing, they permit their hands to take over and direct the downswing. As the hands come down, with every thing else following, the club face will almost undoubtedly open up.
From beginning to finish, your golf swing ought to be smooth and relaxed. Avoid the temptation to jerk the club once you get towards the top of your backswing. Let your hips start off the downswing and every thing else will follow.
One more useful tip to correct your slice is to look at your divot. If your divot is pointing too far towards the right, this may be your issue. Again, look at your posture at address and make certain your feet, hips, and shoulders are in line with the target.
“I’m not saying my golf game went bad, but if I grew tomatoes, they’d come up sliced.” (Lee Trevino)
Above all, correcting a slice is a matter of finding the 1 or 2 things you are doing wrong and fixing them. This, of course, requires time and patience. If you work through the possible causes, you’ll ultimately uncover the solution, and your enjoyment of the game will soar to new levels.

How To Drive The Ball Farther
October 13, 2010 by J. Maxwell

Hitting long off the tee, is a wonderful thing. If you want to be able to connect on that perfect drive, there are many things in your swing, that have to be done correctly.
When working on adding distance to your drives, do not lose sight of the fact, that accuracy is just as important. Of course all golfers want to hit the ball far and on target. You can accomplish this too.
You will not hit perfectly straight drives, all the time. Most golfers will hit a natural fade or draw. So, when we say straight, we mean pretty close to where you wanted the ball to go.
Also, when we say far, this could mean different things to different people. Far is a relative term, 125 yards my be long to you. To others, 250 yards is there measuring stick. Now, let’s see how we get get you more distance and accuracy on your drives.
First, lets’s start with your set-up:
One of the most important aspects of your swing, is your set-up. Pick a target, and align your body to it. Bend at the waist and bend your knees slightly. If you are a right hand golfer, you need to place the ball roughly 4 1/2″ left of center. Take your proper grip. Relax, and let your arms hang below your shoulders.
Now, let’s take a look at swing speed:
There are too many golfers, who simply try to swing to fast. Slow your tempo down, on your backswing. At the top of your backswing, hesitate for a couple of seconds. This will let you to start your downswing with your hips leading the way. An increase in clubhead speed, will add distance to your drives. This is accomplished by using your whole body when you swing. Your arms, legs, shoulders and hips must all work together and meet at the point of contact.
The next topic is balance:
Balance is key, if you want to hit your drives farther. Staying balanced is vital and it all starts with your set-up and swing tempo. If you swing too hard, you will lose your balance, as well as distance and accuracy of your drives.
Work on your accuracy first, before trying to gain more distance.
Hitting the ball really far into the the trees, will do you more harm than good in most cases.
Check with your local golf pro to identify and work on any problems they may see.

Radically Lower Your Golf Score With Subconscious Mind Power
September 12, 2010 by Xavier J. Murphy
Golf can be a great sport. There isn’t much better than hitting a towering drive off the tee that lands just on the fringe of the green on par four. Then an easy chip and put for a birdie. The problem is that between those perfect holes, you’ve got to suffer a few (or a couple dozen for some of us) not so great holes. What can you do?
The secret to golf, as is the secret to any other game, is imagination and visualization. Ask any professional, and they’ll tell you that a huge part of their success is firm, steady, visualization. When you visualize something, you are giving straight directions to your subconscious mind on how you want to function.
Think about a golf swing, a tee shot if you will. Do you think specifically about what slant you are opening the club face, or how far back to go on the back swing? Do you identify precisely what angle with which the club face catches the ball? Most certainly not.
If you are like most folks, you have a hazy idea of what direction you’d like the ball to go in. Then you swing away, and hope for the best. Unfortunately, this infrequently works with any quantity of reliability. Sometimes you get fortunate, and hit one straight down the middle, other times you don’t even trouble yourself looking for your ball.
So how do you tap into your commanding subconscious mind to enhance your game? Simple. Join some potent statements, with some tough visualizations, and repeat them in a calm, almost drowsy state.
For example, if you’d like a better tee-shot, you may say something like this:
I always drive my ball straight down the core of the fairway. Hitting straight shots off the tee is natural for me. My friends are envious of my reliable tee shot.
While you are saying this, picture your ball going right down the middle of the fairway. Envision hearing your friends saying what a amazing shot it is. Picture how you feel when you hit such a wonderful shot.
The best time to say this to yourself, and use your visualization is to get in a calm, almost sleeping state. Sit in a comfortable chair, take a few deep breaths and close your eyes. Envision seeing the numbers starting with ten, and going down to one. When you get to one, take quite a few deep breaths, and merely say “relax” to yourself softly.
Then begin to leisurely and quietly repeat your declaration to yourself, while seeing the ball go right down the hub.
If you do this two or three times a day for a week or two, you will see some impressive improvements in your tee shot. After you’ve got that part of your game down, you can work on your fairway shots, you short game, your putting, and every other feature of the game.
Easily and organically harness your mind-boggling subconscious mind power and come up with new and exceptional persuasive ideas.
