“Drive for show, putt for dough” is the message we have all observed & known from observing proficient golfers in every contests & competitions.
The specialists of golf can fling a ball from here to perpetuity, however it all is based on the amount of strikes of the ball it takes to place the ball in the hole. The long apt drives do not result in anything if you are not able to hit accurately.
Picking a putter is of essence, however, using whatever putter you have most of the time is more so. I have possessed the same putter for fifteen years; I can make out what it feels like in my hand, I am familiar with its weight & how that will result into my strokes.
Striking wants a lot of trials over and over again. Typically|Generally|Normally|Usually|Characteristically, we drive the ball 18 times in 1 tournament, but strike minimally twice that number. Does it not mean that we should practice our putting at least twice as that of driving? If you cannot get to the practice green recurrently, keep trying on your carpet at your house.
Keep in mind that no ball can be located into the hole if it does not have adequate strength propelling the ball to arrive there. Take the time to go down and make our the path from your ball to the hole; does it slope one way or the other? Is it ascending or slanting down?
Set yourself with your feet stretched for balance & line up the putt. Stay with your hands, arms & shoulders entirely standstill; imagine that you are a “bobble head” but you bulge from just beneath your chest. Remain with your head right above the ball. Pull your club to the backside; stay with your hands, wrists, arms & shoulders firm-the movement starts from your chest. Putt the ball, tracking it with your club.
Gain knowledge from each hit and memorize the message. Practice, practice and practice some more!
